5 Quick Home Organization Tips for Busy Moms

Hey there, sweet friends! Let’s chat about something that’s been on my heart lately – keeping our homes organized. As moms, wives, and busy women, we know how quickly things can get out of hand. But I’ve found that a tidy home helps create a peaceful heart and mind. Here are five quick tips that have been game-changers for me:

  • The 10-Minute Tidy: Set a timer for 10 minutes and do a quick sweep of your main living areas. You’d be amazed at how much you can accomplish in such a short time! It’s like a mini-race against the clock, and the kids can join in too.
  • One In, One Out Rule: For every new item that comes into your home, try to remove one. This helps prevent clutter from building up over time. It’s a great way to practice contentment and stewardship of what God has blessed us with.
  • Designate a Donation Box: Keep a box in a closet or the garage for items you no longer need. When it’s full, drop it off at a local charity. It’s a simple way to bless others with what we no longer use.
  • Use Vertical Space: Look up! Install shelves or use over-the-door organizers to maximize storage in small spaces. This has been a lifesaver in our bathroom.
  • The Two-Minute Rule: If a task takes less than two minutes to complete, do it right away. This could be hanging up a coat, filing a paper, or putting away dishes. It prevents small tasks from piling up into big messes.

Remember, Colossians 3:23 tells us, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” Even in the seemingly mundane task of organizing our homes, we can glorify God by creating a peaceful environment for our families.
