Hey there, friends! Let’s chat about something that’s close to my heart – staying active and healthy, even with our crazy busy schedules. As a mom juggling homeschooling, business, and family life, I know how hard it can be to find time for exercise. But you know what? Taking care of our bodies is a way to honor God and be our best selves for our families.
Remember, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 tells us, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” So, let’s look at some simple ways to keep our ‘temples’ in good shape, right from the comfort of our homes!
Start Your Day with Stretching: Before the kiddos wake up, take 5-10 minutes to stretch. It’s a great way to wake up your body and mind. I like to use this time for prayer too – multitasking at its finest!
Turn Chores into Workouts: Who says mopping can’t be a leg workout? Put on some worship music and get your heart rate up while you clean. It’s a win-win!
Use What You Have: No fancy equipment? No problem! Use water bottles as weights, or do step-ups on the stairs. God gave us these amazing bodies that can do so much without any extra tools.
Involve the Kids: Make it a family affair! Have a dance party in the living room, or do a fun workout video together. It’s a great way to model healthy habits for your little ones.
Sneak in Mini-Workouts: Do squats while brushing your teeth, or calf raises while waiting for the kettle to boil. Every little bit counts!
Try HIIT: High-Intensity Interval Training is perfect for busy moms. You can get an effective workout in just 10-15 minutes!
End Your Day with Yoga: A few gentle yoga poses before bed can help you relax and sleep better. It’s a great time to reflect on your day and thank God for His blessings.
Remember, the goal isn’t perfection, but progress. Every step you take towards a healthier you is a step in the right direction. Let’s encourage each other to take care of these amazing bodies God gave us!
